 Junior Achievement and Syracuse area 40 Below are partnering with Liverpool High School to offer students curriculum in developing career success for the 21st Century. JA students experience real world readiness, money and business management, and entrepreneurship.



Regional Competition at the Rochester Institute of Technology- 

Team 174 (Arctic Warriors) Places second in the First Robotics Finger Lakes

This competition serves as a vehicle for students to develop critical life skills such as teamwork, leadership and project management.More than 45 leading high school students and 15 mentors represented Liverpool High School in this competition.

 Welch Allyn - Skaneateles, New York  

Students in the Literature & History in Action 12th grade English/History class spent the day exploring every facet of research and development in the company, as well as production. The students were exposed to all level of jobs and spent a lot of time with upper management, asking questions and honing their soft skills. They returned to school and completed a problem solving project, assigned by Welch Allyn which revolved around what they discovered at the plant.  Cornell University - Expanding Your Horizons Conference 

Over 50 female students from Soule Road Middle School traveled to Cornell University to participate in this conference. The goal of the conference was to stimulate interest in math and science through hands on activities, provide female scientist role models, and foster awareness of opportunities in the STEM related fields

 Corning Museum of Glass - Ithaca, New York  

Chestnut Hill Middle School students traveled to Corning Museum of Glass. This trip is part of a start up event for Project Based Learning (PBL). Museum Docents and education staff engaged dstudents in active looking and discussion as they explored the Museum’s glass collection and interactive exhibitions. The day included developmentally appropriate, curriculum-based activities related to art, history, and science. It was designed to meet select New York State Learning Standards and promote individual discovery and team problem-solving.

Welch Allyn-Hill-Rom Engineering and Educational Field Trip

Students demonstrated their STEM skills to the entire Welch Allyn facility during their quarterly meeting, as well as met with Welch Allyn executives, engineering management, patent lawyers, and trades/manufacturing units to discuss college/career readiness. In the afternoon, they were able to take a tour of their facility and see how their knowledge directly applied to what Welch Allyn is manufacturing.

Female students from Liverpool High School Annex and Soule Road Middle School spent the morning learning first hand what it takes to work at SRC, and learn about the foundational STEM skills needed to be successful later in life.

STEM Careers Day & Leadership Forum

Hosted by SUNY Upstate Medical University's Biotech Accelerator Center & Institute of Human Performance

Liverpool High School Humanities in Action 12 students participated in an exciting STEM event that provided an opportunity for them to be engaged with presentations, demonstrations and a tour of the new Neuroscience Research Center. The purpose of the day was for the students to develop an interest, awareness, and passion in a variety of medical careers. Present was a sampling of businesses, organizations and agencies within our community.
