Phase 1 Lead Testing Results Received

Thursday, October 27, 2016

On September 6, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo signed new legislation requiring all public school districts to conduct lead testing.

Prior to the passage of this new law, the Liverpool Central School District had already begun testing water fixtures throughout the district.

Phase 1 Testing was completed on September 19. Of the 602 fixtures tested, 43 tested above the maximum contaminant level of 15 parts per billion (ppb). Of those, 18 were drinking fountains and 25 were faucets. Signage was immediately posted at these fixtures and will remain there until remediation and retesting at safe levels is complete.

Overall Phase 1 Testing results were as follows:

You will receive a follow up letter regarding the results of Phase 2 and Phase 3 as soon as we receive them.

A copy of our lead testing results is available for review (by appointment) in the District Office (195 Blackberry Road) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please contact Director of Facilities Darrell Clisson at 315-622-7167 to schedule an appointment.
