LCSD Educators Perform at Midwest Clinic
Friday, January 13, 2017
Four Liverpool Central School District educators recently attended and performed at the 70th annual Midwest Clinic, an international band and orchestra conference held in downtown Chicago.
Elmcrest Elementary/ Morgan Road Elementary/ Donlin Drive Elementary band director Jason Schirripa, Soule Road Middle band director Anna Salem, Liverpool High School band director Stephen Salem and LCSD Director of Fine Arts David Perry performed as members of Central Winds, a music educator's wind ensemble made up of music teachers from throughout Central New York.
Ensembles from the United States and abroad submit audition tapes annually. This year, 40 bands, orchestras and ensembles were invited to perform during the three-day event.
“This was a huge honor for all of us in that ensemble,” Perry said.
"I also am very happy to have three dynamic and motivated band directors on our LCSD staff,” Perry added. “They continue to develop their performing skills and challenge themselves to perform with such a fine ensemble along with their full time teaching duties."
